Hiking + Nature Walks
Away from the beaches, the Algarve is walking country: the cork and chestnut hills of Monchique, the reservoirs and orange groves around Silves, and the wild cliffs of the Costa Vicentina on the west coast. Local guides know the paths that are not on any map, from river crossings to hidden thermal springs.
You will find easy family walks, longer hikes with real climbs, sunset walks that end on the beach, stargazing nights, forest bathing and wildflower walks in spring. Most guides work on request, so you pick the day and they confirm.
Every guide listed here takes your booking directly. Algarve Circle takes no commission and adds no fees, so the price you see is their own.

Before you book
- When is the best time of year to hike in the Algarve?
- Autumn, winter and spring. From October to May the days are mild and the hills are green, and spring brings the wildflowers. In July and August it is hot inland, so summer walks start early in the morning or around sunset.
- How fit do I need to be?
- It depends on the walk. Each walk shows its distance, how long it takes and its level, from easy family walks to intermediate hikes with climbs. If you are unsure, ask the guide before you book.
