Data sources & accuracy

Algarve Circle brings useful live information into one place by drawing on trusted third-party sources. This page explains where that information comes from and the limits of relying on it.

The sources we use

  • Wildfire alerts. Active rural fires shown on town pages and the Pings board come from Fogos.pt, which publishes data from ANEPC, Portugal's National Authority for Emergency and Civil Protection (Proteção Civil).
  • Weather and sea temperature. Town forecasts come from Open-Meteo.
  • Maps. Our map uses CARTO basemaps built on OpenStreetMap data.
  • Business and place details. Listing information is provided by the businesses themselves and, for some listings, gathered from public sources. Owners can claim and correct their own listing at any time.

Accuracy and timing

Third-party data is provided to us "as is". It can be delayed, incomplete, or wrong, and it can change at any moment. To keep pages fast we cache some of this information for a few minutes, so what you see may be slightly behind the original source. We do not edit or verify the underlying data, and we cannot guarantee it is accurate or up to date.

Business listing details

Opening hours, prices, contact details and other information on a business page are provided and kept up to date by the business itself, not by Algarve Circle. We do not independently verify them. A listing might show as open when the business is in fact closed, or a price may have changed since it was last updated. Please check directly with the business before relying on these details, especially before travelling.

In an emergency

Fire alerts on Algarve Circle are a convenience, not an official warning system. In an emergency always rely on official sources: call 112, and follow the guidance of Proteção Civil and the local authorities. Never make a safety decision based solely on what you see here.

Our responsibility

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Algarve Circle is not responsible for any loss or harm arising from incorrect, delayed, or out-of-date third-party data shown on the platform. This sits alongside the limits set out in our Terms of Service.
