What to expect
A hidden gem: few people know this place exists. A sacred spot in the most remote part of the Monchique hills, stunning and very peaceful. We cross the river several times, surrounded by trees, and visit the ancient thermal baths, where you can take a dip in the 27° water. A quirky place, full of history. Easy, slow-paced linear walk, there and back, on dirt tracks and small paths with views over the hills. The river crossings are calm and shallow, great fun with children. 3 km, about 2.5 hours, in the morning, all year.
