Before you book
Do I need a licence to drive a buggy or quad in the Algarve?
Yes, a standard car driving licence is required to drive, and operators will ask to see it. Passengers do not need one. Minimum passenger ages vary by operator and machine.
Will I get dirty on a buggy tour?
Gloriously. In dry months the trails throw serious dust, and after rain there is mud and the odd river crossing. Wear clothes you do not mind ruining, closed shoes and sunglasses; most operators sell or lend bandanas and goggles.
