NOS Cinemas Aqua Portimão

NOS Cinemas Aqua Portimão is a 6-screen cinema complex on the second floor of the Aqua Portimão shopping centre in Portimão. The screens were previously run by Orient Cineplace, which closed its Portimão cinema at the end of 2025 as part of a gradual shutdown linked to an ongoing insolvency process. NOS Lusomundo Cinemas stepped in and reopened partial programming, on at least 4 of the 6 screens, on 18 December 2025, to keep film access available for Portimão over the busy end-of-year release period. Renovation and modernisation work has continued at the site since the takeover, with NOS planning a fully refreshed complex from spring 2026 onwards. This makes Aqua Portimão the third NOS Cinemas venue in the Algarve, alongside Fórum Algarve in Faro and MAR Shopping Algarve near Loulé, and restores a cinema option to central Portimão after the operator change. As with other NOS Cinemas venues, the programme covers current Portuguese and international releases in VP (dubbed) and VO (subtitled) versions, with tickets bookable online through the NOS Cinemas website.
