Vale do Lobo
O Vale do Lobo não é uma terra que cresceu, é um resort que foi planeado, e assume-o com honestidade: um dos mais antigos resorts de luxo do Algarve, desenhado nos anos 60 na costa junto a Almancil, e hoje um dos vértices do chamado Triângulo Dourado, que partilha com a Quinta do Lago. A fórmula é golfe, praia e desporto, em grande escala. Dois campos, o Royal e o Ocean, correm por entre os pinheiros mansos, e o buraco 16 do Royal, jogado por cima de uma ravina na arriba com o Atlântico em baixo, é um dos buracos mais fotografados do golfe europeu. A praia estende-se aos pés de arribas ocres, longa e bem cuidada, com clubes de praia e restaurantes no centro do resort, a Praça, que se torna o ponto de encontro nas noites de verão. Uma academia de ténis de longa data acrescenta o terceiro desporto, e moradias e jardins preenchem o pinhal entre tudo isto. É uma paisagem privada e gerida, não uma terra portuguesa: para mercados e vida corrente, Almancil fica a dez minutos para o interior e o aeroporto de Faro a vinte. O Vale do Lobo é para golfistas, famílias desportivas e quem quer o Algarve com os detalhes tratados: tee times, camas de praia e jantar ao alcance de um buggy.
