Vale do Lobo Resort

Vale do Lobo Resort is a 450-hectare development in the heart of the Algarve's golden triangle, founded on 28 December 1962 by Sir Richard Costain and Trusthouse Forte plc as the first resort development of its kind in the Algarve. Over more than 60 years it has grown into what it describes as the largest luxury resort of its kind in Portugal, with more than 1,500 owned properties and around 2,500 rental beds available to holidaymakers, plus 2km of uninterrupted, privately accessed beachfront. Beyond real estate sales, rentals and an Owners Club membership programme, the resort runs its own holiday accommodation booking channel, 15 restaurants and bars including Smash Restaurant and The Wolf, a Royal Spa and fitness centre, and one of Portugal's largest tennis set-ups with 13 tennis courts and 6 padel courts. The resort is also home to two championship 18-hole golf courses, the Royal and the Ocean, both originally designed by Sir Henry Cotton, which are listed separately on Algarve Circle. The resort runs a year-round events programme at its central Praca, from tribute acts and live entertainment to seasonal community gatherings, and provides 24-hour security and an on-site medical centre for the visitors it welcomes each year.
