Dolphin Watching

BySeaXplorer Sagres Sagres
A 1.5-hour catamaran trip from Porto da Baleeira with a marine biologist on board, searching the Sagres coastline for common and bottlenose dolphins.
Highlights
- Marine biologist on board narrating in German, English and Portuguese
- Stable catamaran viewing platform
- Departs Porto da Baleeira, Sagres
- 1.5-hour trip along the Costa Vicentina
What to expect
We run this trip from Porto da Baleeira, the working harbour on the western tip of the Algarve at Sagres, taking guests out along the Costa Vicentina to look for dolphins in their natural habitat. A marine biologist joins every departure and narrates the trip in German, English and Portuguese, explaining the behaviour of any dolphins encountered along the way.
The catamaran format gives a stable, open viewing platform, which works well for families and anyone unsure about smaller RIB boats. We ask guests to check in 30 minutes before departure at Porto da Baleeira.
This is our shortest and most accessible trip, built around a straightforward search for dolphins rather than the longer wildlife or cave routes we also run.
