To mark 200 years since Olhao's municipal council was founded, the Auditorio Municipal Maria Barroso is showing Dois seculos a fazer um lugar in its foyer, on display from 22 April to 30 November 2026. The exhibition is open Tuesday to Saturday, 10:00 to 12:30 and 13:30 to 17:00, including through July and August. Photographs, paintings, newspapers and council minutes trace Olhao's transformation from fishing village to city over two centuries, inviting visitors to revisit the town's collective memory and identity. It is part of the wider bicentenary programme running through the year, alongside concerts, a videomapping show and community conversations across the municipality's parishes.
