MoxiPops

MoxiPops is an artisan popsicle maker based in Odiaxere, in the Lagos municipality, describing itself as 'the popsicle of the Algarve'. The business is run by a Polish-Chilean family who started making their own popsicles in Poland in 2018, inspired by Mexican paletas encountered while travelling, before the project paused during Covid and restarted in Portugal. The range is split into three lines: fruity pops (flavours such as strawberry and watermelon, mango and raspberry, pineapple and basil, mango and chilli, and pomegranate lemonade), creamy pops (avocado and blackberry, banana and dates, orange and mango, banana and chocolate, and apple pie among others), and 18-plus 'party pops' made with alcohol such as gin, bourbon, tequila and rose wine. All of the pops are described as 100 percent fruit, all-natural and vegan-friendly. MoxiPops has no fixed shopfront. It sells at local markets and events around the Algarve, takes custom orders for private events, and is also stocked at a number of shops and beach bars, which it says it updates via its social media.
