Karting
The Algarve takes its karting seriously. The Kartódromo Internacional do Algarve at Portimão sits beside the international race circuit and hosts world-level karting; Almancil’s family park has run holiday racers for decades; and indoor electric karting brings the racing under a roof for hot days and small drivers.
Sessions sell by the stint, usually 10 to 15 minutes, with timed laps, printed results and junior karts or twin-seaters for younger children. Closed shoes are required everywhere.

From what age can children go karting?
Junior karts typically start around 7 with a height minimum, and twin-seater karts let an adult drive younger children around some tracks. Each track’s listing shows its own age and height rules.
