About this event

The Feira Concurso Arte Doce is Lagos's biggest summer fair, built around a confectionery competition that draws bakers and pastry makers from across the region to compete for trophies and cash prizes in categories including Arte Doce and Doce de Inovação. This 37th edition runs under the theme "Lagos, Between Traditions and a Multicultural Sea", with the Douro region as invited guest and a photography exhibition marking 40 years of the Lusa news agency. Alongside the competition there is a full programme of showcookings and tastings of Dom Rodrigo, cataplana algarvia and regional wines, plus crafts stalls and a free tourist train running between two stops in the evenings. The fair's free nightly concerts are the main draw for many visitors, with headline sets from Marisa Liz, Matias Damásio, Dino D'Santiago, Carlão and Ana Moura across the five nights. Entry to the fair and all concerts is free.
