Decorative Tapestry Featuring Plants from the Algarve

This workshop offers an opportunity to discover the art of hand-woven tapestry, using plant fibres and some plants native to the Algarve region. It is a way of exploring creativity and our connection with nature through traditional tapestry techniques. During the workshop, participants will learn the basic techniques for creating a small decorative tapestry on a loom, including setting up the warp, using different threads, creating volume and texture, and the final finishing touches. Frame looms will be provided for use during the workshop, as well as a manual containing the project, a description of the stitches taught and additional information.
