Colégio Internacional de Vilamoura (CIV)

Colégio Internacional de Vilamoura (CIV) was founded in 1984 by a group of local parents, teachers and investors, making it one of the Algarve's longest-established international schools. Its 27,000 m2 campus sits minutes from the beach in Vilamoura and today teaches students aged 3 to 18 from more than 40 nationalities. The school runs two parallel pathways. The Portuguese National Curriculum covers preschool through Grade 12, while the International Pathway follows an adapted British curriculum into Cambridge Lower Secondary and IGCSE, finishing with the IB Diploma Programme in Grades 11 and 12, taught in classes of around 10 students. Recent graduates have gone on to universities including King's College London, Edinburgh, LSE, Trinity College Dublin, TU Delft, NYU, Georgia Tech and UC Berkeley. Facilities include science laboratories, a library, a dining hall, two gymnasiums, an AstroTurf pitch, basketball, tennis and volleyball courts, music and art rooms, a ballet studio and a drama space. CIV is part of the Inspired Education Group, a global network of schools. Fee schedules for 2026-27 are published on its website, and prospective families can visit through regular Open Days or a bookable personalised tour.
