Deutsche Schule Algarve

Deutsche Schule Algarve (DSA), the Escola Alemã do Algarve, teaches a German curriculum from a campus at Sitio do Lobito, just outside Silves. The school runs a Grundschule (primary school), teaching in small classes with an emphasis on individual support and creative learning, followed by Sekundarstufen I and II leading up to the Abitur, Germany's university-entrance qualification, alongside a track aimed at the mittlerer Schulabschluss (intermediate school-leaving certificate). The school is aimed at German-speaking families relocating to the Algarve, teaching bilingually in German and Portuguese and preparing pupils across both the primary and secondary stages for German-recognised qualifications while based in Portugal. It runs its own admissions process (Aufnahme) with dates and requirements published directly on its site, alongside a dedicated support programme (Foerdern und Unterstuetzen) for pupils who need extra help.
