EPICUR Boutique Wine Bar occupies a townhouse on Rua Alexandre Herculano in downtown Faro, built around the philosophy of its namesake, the Greek philosopher Epicurus: pleasure found in moderation, good company and balance rather than excess. The wine list runs to around 200 labels, mostly Portuguese with a broader international selection, and a strong pour-by-the-glass programme so guests can taste widely without committing to a full bottle. The kitchen serves a small, considered plate list built for sharing alongside the wine, with dishes on record including a caviar and choux pastry starter served on ceramic, hot prawns with quinoa and smoked black olive, a pulled-meat taco with pickled chilli, scallops with brown butter and crispy onion, and a seared beef course finished with tableside smoked chocolate. Reservations run through EPICUR's own booking system, which takes a card deposit to confirm a table, and the venue also sells gift cards from EUR 15.
