D'Volta Wine and Tapas

D'Volta Wine and Tapas is a small Iberian tavern on Rua Samora Barros in Albufeira, founded by a couple whose love of gastronomy is told on the wooden plaque by the door. The concept is sharing: the menu is arranged into a first moment and a second moment of small plates, backed by a curated list of Portuguese wines. The plates lean on Portuguese seafood and produce, all priced on the menu: clams with coriander at EUR 14, curried mussels at EUR 12, Tavira red prawns at EUR 25 for two, oysters at EUR 10 for three, octopus à galega at EUR 8, Aljezur octopus tentacles at EUR 14, monkfish and shrimp stew at EUR 16, rack of lamb at EUR 18 and duck magret at EUR 15. At brunch, Eggs Benedict is EUR 10.90. The tavern opens Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00 to 22:00 and closes on Sundays and Mondays. Brunch and lunch are walk-in with no reservation needed; dinner tables can be reserved through Google or by phone.
