Marine Research Tour

ByMar Ilimitado Sagres

Duration
4 hours
Minimum age
12 and up

A 4-hour trip pairing a land-based briefing on cetacean research with a sea excursion collecting real sighting and photo-ID data, led by marine biologists.

Highlights

  • Led by marine biologists
  • Land briefing plus real data collection at sea
  • Photo-ID review session included
  • Minimum age 12

What to expect

This is our citizen-science trip: you join our marine biologists for a proper introduction to how cetacean research works, then head out to sea to actually collect data, not just watch. We start with a 90-minute briefing on land covering monitoring methods, then spend two and a half hours on the water gathering sightings and photo-identification material, which our team reviews with you when you're back on shore.

It's a longer and more involved trip than our standard dolphin watching tours, built for anyone who wants to understand the science behind what they're seeing, not just spot dolphins from the boat.
