About this event

Loulé Jazz turns 30 this year, and the festival marks the milestone with six concerts spread across three nights at the Alcaidaria do Castelo, the walled courtyard inside Loulé's old castle. Artistic direction stays with pianist Mário Laginha, who has family roots in the town. The 2026 line-up opens on 24 July with the new formation of the Loulé Jazz Trio alongside the Andy Sheppard Trio, previewing music from a forthcoming ECM Records album. The following nights bring the Ricardo Toscano Quartet and the quartet As Folhas Novas Mudam de Cor, plus a tribute marking the centenary of John Coltrane's birth. Shows start at 21:30 each night. Daily and three-day passes are sold through BOL and the usual outlets in Loulé.
