Global Ocean Sagres 2026

Global Ocean brings its open-water swim series to Sagres on 29 August, the closing stop of the Algarve's summer circuit before the swimmers move on to other Portuguese coastal legs later in the year. The event pairs a timed competitive swim with the series' wider aim of raising awareness for ocean conservation, drawing swimmers who follow the Global Ocean events held at Cascais, Figueira da Foz and elsewhere on the coast. Sagres's rougher Atlantic water and dramatic cliffs make this one of the more demanding and scenic legs of the season, a fitting spot to wrap up the region's open-water summer.
