Castro Marim turns the Revelim de Santo António, the star-shaped fort on the edge of the Guadiana estuary, into an open-air food and music venue for three nights. Local associations run stalls serving snails cooked Algarve, Portuguese, Spanish, French and Moroccan style, alongside regional beer and sweets. Each evening from 18:00 brings a run of live bands and folk groups from both sides of the border, building through the night. The festival closes on the Sunday with a headline set from Bonga, the veteran Angolan singer known for classics like Mona Ki Ngi Xica. Entry to the festival grounds is free. It is one of the municipality's biggest summer draws and a good excuse to try a plate of caracóis while looking out over the estuary.
