Castro Marim Golf & Country Club

Castro Marim Golfe & Country Club offers three nine-hole courses at Sítio Lavajinho in Castro Marim: the Guadiana and Atlântico courses, both designed in 2001 by Bristol-based architect Terry Murray, and the newer Grouse course, which opened in 2008. The Guadiana and Atlântico are the most mature of the three, lined with pine trees and home to plenty of wildlife, especially partridge in winter. The Grouse has more open, far-reaching inland hill views and rolling terrain with fewer trees, and its wildlife includes wild boar, birds and rabbits, with the occasional Iberian lynx reported by property owners playing early in the morning. All three courses share fast, true greens, several elevated and bunker-protected, with dogleg fairways carved through canyons. Rounds are typically played as 18 holes by combining two of the three nines (Grouse and Guadiana, or Atlântico and Guadiana). The club also runs a golf academy and offers subscriptions for regular players. Tee times can be booked online through the club's own booking system.
