Silves turns back the clock for nine nights of jousting, jugglers and market stalls below its Moorish castle.
Is this your event?
Claim Silves Medieval Fair 2026 to manage it, add photos and tickets, and list it under your business. It is free.
For nine nights every August, the streets around Silves castle fill with jugglers, acrobats, snake charmers and processions of knights as the town recreates its Moorish and medieval past. Stallholders in period dress sell food, drink and handicrafts, and the programme includes jousting tournaments and themed night shows inside the castle walls. The 2026 fair marks its 21st edition, running from 7 to 15 August with the grounds open from 6pm to 1am each night. It is one of the largest medieval recreations in the Algarve and draws visitors from across the region. Daily admission is a token charge, with extra tickets for the castle night shows and optional costume hire on site. Tickets are sold online in advance and at the gate.
