Vistas (Monte Rei Golf & Country Club)

Vistas is the fine-dining restaurant at Monte Rei Golf & Country Club, near Vila Nova de Cacela in the eastern Algarve. From 2019 the restaurant built its reputation under founding chef Rui Silvestre, who held a Michelin star here for several years and put the eastern Algarve on the Michelin map for the first time. Silvestre has since moved on to lead Fifty Seconds at the Myriad hotel in Lisbon. The kitchen is now run by chef Andre Simao, a native of Portimao who trained under Silvestre and other Algarve chefs before taking over. Simao's concept centres on a single tasting menu, Do Mar a Serra (From the Sea to the Mountains), served with two pairing options, and the restaurant hosted a Chaine des Rotisseurs dinner in 2024 showcasing his cooking. As of the 2026 Michelin Guide, Vistas does not appear on the current list of starred restaurants, so we have not repeated the earlier star claim from listings that have not caught up with the change in kitchen.
