Recanto dos Mouros

Recanto dos Mouros sits on the small hills of Monte Branco, on the north side of Silves, behind the town's castle walls. The restaurant is recognised nationally for traditional Algarve cooking, served in a rustic dining room decorated with traditional Grés de Silves stoneware in shades of red, traditional instruments on the walls, and a fireplace at the centre of the room. The kitchen runs a fixed menu through the week, with extra suggestions of traditional Portuguese dishes at weekends; the site highlights wild boar, lamb soaked with toast, and beans with sea snails among its offerings, alongside fresh fish and game meat. There is also a wine cellar covering different Portuguese regions. The restaurant has a private room for group bookings (birthdays, family gatherings, get-togethers) with capacity for 100 people, plus a terrace seating 40, a garden and a children's playground, and offers private parking. It is at Estrada do Monte Branco, Silves, open for lunch and dinner most days except Wednesdays.
