Quinta dos Vales Wine Estate

Quinta dos Vales is a 44 hectare wine estate in Estombar, in the municipality of Lagoa, about 15 minutes from the Algarve coast. The property combines a working winery with 40 villa suites set among the vines, plus an open-air sculpture park where more than a hundred artworks are placed throughout the vineyard. The estate's winemaking team, Rita Xavier and Rafael Merce, produce around 150,000 bottles a year from 15 grape varieties, mostly Portuguese (Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Aragonês, Verdelho and Alvarinho) alongside French varieties such as Alicante Bouschet, Syrah, Viognier and Cabernet Sauvignon, under the Marquês dos Vales and DIALOG labels. The wines have collected more than 100 awards to date. Visitors can book a Winery Tour and Commented Wine Tasting (from EUR 36 per person), a three hour Bottle Blending Workshop where guests craft their own bottle (from EUR 157 per person, minimum group of two), or a no-reservation Solo Wine Tasting (EUR 14.90 per set). The estate also runs a regular calendar of Fado Music Sessions (from EUR 18 per person), Savour & Sip gastronomic pairings (from EUR 75 per person) and open-air Wine and Cinema nights. Beyond the winery, Quinta dos Vales offers swimming pools including a vineyard-view infinity pool, tennis and padel courts, mini golf and walking trails, and hosts weddings and private events across the estate.
