Pastelaria Centeio

Pastelaria Centeio has traded on Rua Mouzinho de Albuquerque in the centre of Faro since 2003, when it was founded by Fernando Vicente. The shop combines a contemporary fit-out with traditional touches and bakes a wide range of fresh bread throughout the day, alongside pastries, homemade cakes, biscuits and sandwiches served at lunchtime. Its bread range covers pao biju, pao mistura, corn broa, tinned white bread, bolo rei at Christmas, sponge cake (pao de lo), a Hungarian assortment, meat-filled bola, almond biscuits (almendrados) and egg-yolk sweets (doce gema), among other lines, plus birthday cakes and sweet and savoury miniatures. Alongside its retail counter, Pastelaria Centeio also runs a wholesale side of the business, supplying its bread and pastries to resellers with its own delivery, more than once a day where needed. Note on sourcing: the business's own website (a Wix site) still carries a 2013 copyright footer and appears not to have been updated since, but recent 2026 customer reviews on TripAdvisor, where it ranks among Faro's top-rated bakeries, confirm it is still actively trading at the same Rua Mouzinho de Albuquerque address; see report for detail.
