Gilbert & Lisson

Gilbert & Lisson is a bespoke footwear and orthotics specialist founded in London in 1962, known for handmade shoes and custom orthotic insoles built for complex foot conditions such as plantar fasciitis, bunions and swollen feet (lymphoedema). The business is registered in London's West End and does not have a permanent Algarve base. Since October 2025 the team has been running recurring consultation visits to the Algarve, based at Hotel Quinta Jacintina in Almancil, on a roughly bi-monthly schedule. Each complimentary consultation includes a full biomechanical and electronic gait analysis, recorded on video and discussed with the client, plus a personalised footwear and orthotic review. The service is aimed at people dealing with ongoing foot or mobility problems, including diabetic ulcers, dropped arches, hammer toes and fused bones, as well as anyone wanting bespoke shoes or orthotic insoles built around a proper gait assessment. Algarve appointments are by consultation only, booked through the London office by phone or email.
