Casa Mãe sits on Rua do Jogo da Bola, nº 41, in Lagos, spread across four buildings with distinct atmospheres: the original 19th-century estate house furnished with vintage Portuguese pieces (Heritage, Pergola, Horta, Esplanada, Poço and Miradouro suites), a cabana cluster with private patios and outdoor showers (Cabanas, Padaria and Baluarte), the newest contemporary building (Standard, Standard Premium, Superior and Deluxe rooms), and Villa Paiol, a 237 square metre private villa for up to 6 adults with its own rooftop pool. The hotel runs Orta, its restaurant, serving brunch from 7:30am to 11am (reserved for resident guests from June to October), lunch and small bites from midday to 6pm, and dinner from 7pm to 10pm, built on produce from the hotel's own 6,000 square metre gardens and its flock of 200 chickens. Casa Mãe also runs a concept store where more than 90 percent of what is sold, from furniture to amenities, is made in Portugal by local artisans. The estate hosts a seasonal programme of workshops and wellbeing events, including a winter creative workshop season. Casa Mãe has been featured in international press including The New York Times, Vogue, Wallpaper and Monocle, and takes bookings through its own online reservation system.
