Canastra

Canastra is a shop for regional Algarve products in Estoi, next to the Pousada de Estoi. It works as a curated showcase for local producers, bringing together traditional cane basketry, boards made from local Alfarrobeira (carob) wood and a wide range of regional specialities built around fig, almond and carob. The shop's range includes natural almond butter and a pomegranate reduction from Estoi, alongside own-production orange products carrying the Algarve's protected geographical indication (IGP). Canastra also stocks Algarve wines recommended by the region's own wine commission, the Comissão Vitivinícola do Algarve. Canastra is an official stop on the Rota N2, the route that follows Portugal's historic N2 road from Chaves to Faro, and visitors can get their Rota N2 passport stamped in the shop. It operates exclusively from its physical premises on Rua Pé da Cruz in Estoi.
