Adega do Cantor

Adega do Cantor is the winery of Quinta do Miradouro in Guia, near Albufeira, founded in the early 2000s by the British singer Sir Cliff Richard together with local partners. The estate produced the Vida Nova range from the outset, and in 2021 ownership passed to Joaquim Pires, who continues to run the vineyard today. The 15 hectare vineyard is planted with Viognier, Syrah, Aragonês and Alicante Bouschet, first planted in 2001 and expanded with Viognier in 2011. It is the only vineyard in the region with a sea view, and the winery produces around 100,000 litres of wine a year across red, white and rosé styles under the Vida Nova and Onda Nova labels, alongside a Miradouro da Guia range and an Adega do Cantor sparkling wine. The cellar building itself, designed with Australian firm Castle Rock Logistics, was the first outside Australia to install the company's mechanical piston press for gentle fruit extraction. Guided tours and tastings at the estate are currently suspended while construction work is carried out at Quinta do Miradouro da Guia, though the physical shop remains open for wine and other product sales, alongside the winery's online shop. The company operating the estate is registered as Adega do Cantor Sociedade de Vitivinicultura, Lda.
