Armação de Pêra
Armação de Pêra fica na costa do Algarve central, entre Albufeira e Carvoeiro, e o nome conta a sua história: a armação era a grande rede de atum que os pescadores da vizinha aldeia de Pêra lançavam ao largo desta costa. O bairro dos pescadores sobrevive na ponta nascente da vila, onde os barcos de madeira continuam varados na areia e o peixe do dia vai direto para as brasas. A praia é o prato principal, uma das mais longas praias urbanas do Algarve, que passa pela pequena e antiga fortaleza da frente-mar, com a sua capela, e segue para nascente em direção à Praia Grande e à Lagoa dos Salgados, uma lagoa onde flamingos e outras aves aquáticas atraem observadores todo o ano. A vila é honesta quanto ao que é: blocos de apartamentos de uma primeira era do turismo alinham-se na marginal, com um longo passeio, cafés e marisqueiras ao nível da rua. Para poente, o areal dá lugar a arribas ocres e praias de enseada em redor da capela da Senhora da Rocha, no alto do promontório. Armação de Pêra é para férias de praia acima de tudo: famílias portuguesas em agosto, nórdicos de longa estadia no inverno e quem põe o areal e a sardinha grelhada à frente do verniz.
