II Trail da Aldeia Branca

The second edition of the Trail da Aldeia Branca sends runners and walkers out from Estoi on the evening of 18 July, on a course through the hills and farmland behind the village. Four distances start in waves from 18:30: a 32km trail, a 21km trail sprint, a 13km mini trail and an 11km walk, so most of the race unfolds after sunset with headtorches out on the trickier stretches. Registration runs through the Associação de Atletismo do Algarve's platform, with entry fees rising closer to race day. It is a small, community feeling event, run mostly on farm tracks and rural paths rather than closed roads, and finishes back in the village. A good pick if you want to see a different side of the Algarve interior, away from the coast.
