Open-air heritage exhibition on a century of tourism in Portimão, at the old fish auction house on the riverfront until 31 July.

Sol, Sardinhas e Sombreiros opened on 7 June 2026 at the Antiga Lota de Portimão, the former fish auction hall on the riverfront, right in the middle of the city's busiest summer strip. Produced by Museu de Portimão, it traces a century of tourism in the municipality, from the first romantic images of Praia da Rocha's cliffs to the everyday stories of the people who built the town's holiday trade. Photographs, objects and first-hand testimonies sit alongside an interactive layout designed for a casual riverside visit rather than a formal museum circuit, making it an easy stop before or after dinner on the marina. The exhibition is free to visit and runs until 31 July 2026, open daily except Mondays: 14:00 to 23:00 in June and 15:00 to midnight in July.
