LDMiguel Trio presents “Three Simple Sounds”, a tribute to the line-up that redefined freedom in jazz: the saxophone, double bass and drums trio. Inspired by Sonny Rollins’ boldness in his legendary 1957 sessions at the Village Vanguard, the group eschews harmonic instruments to explore a direct dialogue, where space and silence are so crucial; in this concert, the absence of a piano or guitar is not a shortcoming, but a liberation.
