Tavira D'Artes

Tavira D'Artes is a contemporary art gallery in the centre of Tavira, run by Karen D'Oliveira and dedicated to making fine art affordable and approachable rather than intimidating. The gallery partners with 17 Portuguese and international artists, showing an ever-changing collection of paintings, photography and contemporary sculpture across styles including abstract, cityscape, figurative, seascape and still life, in sizes ranging from small hand-luggage pieces to full wall coverings. Artists shown at the gallery include Magdalena Morey, an international artist born and trained in Lublin, Poland, who has lived in both the UK and Switzerland; Paco Santana, a prize-winning Spanish painter known for minimalist seascapes; and Antonio Barahona, who studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts Santa Isabel de Hungria in Seville and received an Erasmus drawing scholarship in 2006. The gallery, at Travessa Jacques Pessoa 8 in Tavira, is open Tuesday to Friday from 11am to 6pm and Saturday mornings, closed on Sundays and bank holidays, with Mondays and private viewings available by appointment. Tavira D'Artes also publishes articles on contemporary art and interior styling on its own site.
