Robinson Club Quinta da Ria

Ria Golf Course is the seaside layout at Quinta da Ria Resort in Vila Nova de Cacela, in the Eastern Algarve, set inside the Ria Formosa Natural Park. The 18-hole, par 72 course opened in March 2002 to a design by Rocky Roquemore, running 6,053 metres over gently sloping terrain with sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean and Cacela Velha beach. The front nine is guarded by large bunkers that demand precision, while the back nine brings water hazards into play on holes 10, 14 and 17. The course has hosted the PGA Europro Tour (2003 and 2004), the Portugal Algarve Seniors Open (2005), the European Seniors Tour Qualifying School (2006 to 2008) and the Portugal Algarve Ladies Open (2008). Ria shares its clubhouse with the neighbouring Quinta de Cima course, including the Ria Terrace Restaurant (Portuguese dishes, burgers, salads, pizzas and desserts, under chef Humberto Paulos) and a Pro Golf Shop stocking Callaway, Titleist, Bridgestone and other major brands. Practice facilities include a 9-hole pitch and putt academy course, a 300-metre driving range with 70 grass bays and 5 covered artificial-grass bays, several short-game areas, and a Performance Center with a Foresight golf simulator. The resort joined DHM Golf, part of Discovery Hotel Management, in 2024, alongside sister courses Quinta do Vale, Montado and Campo Real. Tee times are booked online through the course's GolfManager system, and a twilight rate from EUR 80 runs in February and from April to September.
