Pinheiros Altos Golf Course

Pinheiros Altos is a 27-hole championship golf course at Sitio dos Pinheiros in Quinta do Lago, run by JJW Hotels & Resorts. The original 18 holes were designed by American architect Ronald Fream, and a further 9 holes, designed by Portuguese golf architect George Santana da Silva, opened in January 2007. The 27 holes are presented as three contrasting nine-hole, par 36 loops named after the estate's trees: the Pines (Pinheiros), the Corks (Sobreiros) and the Olives (Oliveiras), each starting and finishing near the clubhouse. The Corks is the longest and most demanding of the three nines, particularly its eighth hole, while the Olives is the original back nine and is home to the course's signature hole, an island green eighth built in 1995. Greens are sown with Penn A4 bent grass combined with Bermuda fairways. Facilities include two driving ranges, a golf academy, a pro shop and a clubhouse with a terrace overlooking the course and lakes.
