Restaurante Ramires

Restaurante Ramires has been grilling piri-piri chicken over charcoal in Guia, near Albufeira, since 1964, when founder Jose Carlos Ramires Cabanas, known locally as O Homem do Tumpa, first fired up the grill. Six decades on, the recipe and the charcoal grill have barely changed. The house specialty is chicken marinated and slow-grilled over charcoal, served with fresh Algarve tomatoes, roasted peppers and homemade fries, followed by homemade traditional Portuguese sweets. The restaurant seats up to 80 people and serves lunch from 12:00 to 15:00 and dinner from 18:30 to 22:30, daily, with take-away available until 10:30pm and WhatsApp ordering.
