Quinta do Lago Laranjal Golf Course

Quinta do Lago Laranjal is a par 72 championship course in the Ludo Valley, about 2 km east of the main Quinta do Lago resort. It opened in 2009 on the site of a former orange grove, and was voted Best Golf Course at the 2011 Portuguese Travel Awards. At 6,480 metres, with five par 5s, eight par 4s and five par 3s, the course is known for its five lakes, umbrella pines, cork oaks and orange trees across rolling terrain. Fairways are sown with Bermuda grass and greens with Penn A4. The course and reception are open daily from 7:00 to 20:30, with the driving range open from 7:00 to 16:00 (closed for maintenance on set weekday mornings and afternoons). Facilities include club rental, a pro shop, a practice area, buggy rental and a buggy bar, electric trolley and trolley rental, and a clubhouse. The Paul McGinley Academy at the resort's driving range offers coaching alongside the course, and packages combine golf on Laranjal with stays at Quinta do Lago's hotels.
