Mercadona Faro

Mercadona, the Spanish supermarket chain, opens its Faro store in the Vale da Amoreira area in November 2026, a few weeks after its first Algarve store in Portimão. The Faro store has a sales area of around 1,900 square metres. It carries the full Mercadona format: fresh meat and fish counters, charcuterie, a bakery and pastry section, fruit and vegetables, perfumery and personal care, household goods, pet supplies, a wine section, and the Ready to Eat area with freshly prepared dishes. The chain's own-label ranges, Hacendado for food and Deliplus for personal care, are the reason so many residents who know the brand from Spain have been waiting for it. The two Algarve stores create 200 permanent jobs. Recruitment is open on the Mercadona Portugal website, with paid training at existing stores before opening.
