KFC is the fried chicken chain built on Colonel Harland Sanders' original recipe, developed after he began cooking chicken for guests at his motel and cafe in Kentucky in the 1930s, a reputation that later earned him the title "Colonel of Kentucky" from the state's governor. In Portugal, KFC is run by Iberusa - Hotelaria e Restauracao SA, and the brand states plainly that its chicken is never processed or pressed: it is marinated and breaded fresh, in the restaurant, every day, using natural ingredients (wheat flour, milk, eggs, salt and pepper). The Algarve flagship sits inside Forum Algarve shopping centre in Faro (Loja 1.02, N125 103, 8000-126 Faro), open daily from 11:00 to 23:00 for the restaurant and until 22:45 for delivery, with its own contact line for the restaurant. KFC's own restaurant finder shows the widest Algarve footprint of any of the region's fast-food chains: alongside Forum Algarve, it lists Faro Drive, Algarve Shopping (Guia/Albufeira), Albufeira, Aqua Portimao, Lagos, MarShopping Loule (Almancil), RiaShopping Olhao and Tavira Plaza, ten locations in total.
