Kartódromo Internacional do Algarve

Kartódromo Internacional do Algarve (KIA) is the recreational go-karting track at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve motorsport park, just outside Portimão, run by Parkalgar, Parques Tecnológicos e Desportivos, S.A. Opened in 2010, the track is one of the largest go-kart circuits in Europe, running for 1,531 metres with 17 corners and a 160 metre main straight. It is approved by the FIA and complies with CIK-FIA rules for international karting competition, and top adult karts on the circuit can reach speeds of up to 161 km/h. Sessions run in blocks of 15, 30, 45 or 60 minutes and no advance booking is required, drivers can simply turn up and race. Adult 270cc karts start from EUR 35 for 15 minutes, rising to EUR 93 for 60 minutes, while Mini karts for younger drivers (height 1.35m to 1.55m) start from EUR 29 for 15 minutes. Double karts are also available for children aged 4 and over riding with an adult. A valid driving licence is required for the adult karts, and all safety equipment is supplied. Beyond casual hire, the track hosts official karting and Supermoto races, private competitions, and corporate team-building days, and in November 2026 it is due to host the Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals. The Kartódromo shares its site with the wider Algarve Motorsports Park, which also includes a shop and restaurant facilities. KIA is open every day from 9:30am to 1pm and 2pm to 7:30pm, with general reception open Monday to Friday from 9am to 7pm.
