Ibex Insurance

Ibex Insurance is an international insurance broker group originally established in 2000, now trading across Spain, Portugal and Gibraltar. In the Algarve it runs two staffed offices, in Almancil (Avenida Duarte Pacheco No 32, open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm) and in Tavira (Rua Primeiro de Maio 26B), each with its own local phone line, WhatsApp number and email address, plus a network of local agents across the region. The Almancil office covers the full range of products Ibex offers through its Portuguese arm: car, motorbike, permanent and holiday home, holiday apartment, health, travel, marine and boat, pet, business, community, legal protection and workers compensation insurance. The group's own site notes that since 2005 Ibex has also looked after the insurance needs of Gibraltar residents and, through an association with the Automóvel Club de Portugal, a growing number of Portuguese nationals. Ibex positions itself around English-speaking, face-to-face service for expats and second-home owners who want a broker with a real local office rather than a call centre, backed by relationships with multiple underwriters so it can compare cover across insurers. Its own site cites a 4.5-star Google rating from 88 reviews at the time of writing, with clients praising friendly, efficient service and clear advice on multi-policy cover.
