Forum Algarve stands at the western entrance to Faro, five minutes from Faro International Airport, at N125 Km 103 (postcode 8009-020). Its architecture was designed to echo the Algarve's own history and building traditions, and the centre is open Sunday to Thursday from 10am to 11pm and Friday and Saturday from 10am to midnight (phone +351 289 889 300, email geral@forumalgarve.net). The centre holds more than 100 stores from international and Portuguese brands, including Bimba Y Lola, Fnac, Gant, the GMS Apple Store, Guess, JD Sports, Lacoste, Nespresso, Samsung, Tous and Zara, plus a dental clinic and a pharmacy. Cinemas NOS shows films with the latest sound and image technology, and the food court seats more than 20 restaurants covering fast food, international cuisine and traditional Portuguese dishes. Practical services include free covered parking for 2,500 vehicles, a real-time flight information display linked to Faro Airport, free boarding-pass printing, train and bus ticket sales, and luggage lockers. Faro itself, the district capital, adds a university, two hospitals and two theatres (including the Teatro das Figuras, a one-minute walk from the centre) to the area around Forum Algarve.
