Restaurante Bica Velha

Restaurante Bica Velha has served the Loulé area since 1980 as a family-owned business, housed in a 16th-century building in the town's historic centre. The restaurant was recently relaunched into a younger, more informal and relaxed concept, while keeping its original setting of vaulted ceilings, arches and stone columns. The kitchen runs on a reduced menu with small quantities of food prepared fresh, changing daily to keep ingredients at their best. Alongside the main menu, the restaurant serves meat and charcuterie boards to go with an aperitivo, and a wine list built mostly around Algarve producers. Desserts are homemade using locally sourced organic produce, and coffee is made from a blend of Arabica and Robusta beans (Delta Coffee range), covering cappuccino, latte, affogato and the traditional Portuguese "bica". Bica Velha also offers home delivery of Algarvian wines ordered through its site, and takes enquiries for private events. It is open Monday to Friday from 18:00 to 21:00, and Saturday from 12:30 to 21:00, closed on Sundays.
