Avenida Restaurante

Avenida is the restaurant of the Lagos Avenida Hotel, on Av. dos Descobrimentos 53 in Lagos, a few steps from the marina. The kitchen holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand and serves a globally inspired menu built on locally sourced produce, with breakfast served daily from 8:00 to 11:00, lunch on Fridays and Saturdays from 12:30 to 14:30, and dinner served every day from 19:00 to 22:00. The dress code is smart casual, beachwear is not permitted, and children aged 12 and over are welcome. The kitchen is led by chef Roeland Klein, who found his passion for cooking while working alongside his father at Hermitage, a Michelin-starred restaurant in the Netherlands. A holiday trip brought him to Lagos, and he decided to make the town his home. His menu ranges from starters such as scallop with passionfruit and cockles to mains like catch of the day with beetroot and sea urchin, alongside a tasting menu of 6 courses for EUR 90 per person (wine pairing EUR 55 per person, full table only). The wine programme is led by head sommelier Joana Reis, who has guided guests through the restaurant's wine list since 2018. In 2024 she was named Sommelier of the Year by Revista de Vinhos, one of Portugal's most prestigious wine awards. Avenida also hosts rooftop Apéro evenings and takes reservations through its own online booking system.
