Praia do Evaristo is a small sandy cove in the Castelo area west of Albufeira, with rocky points at either end and clear, sheltered water. It sits below a quiet quarter of villas, one of a string of coves along this stretch, with sand that shelves gently and rocks close in on both sides for snorkelling. Access is easy by the standards of the west Albufeira coves, a short ramp and steps rather than a long stairway. It is compact and popular on summer days, when arriving early makes the difference. It suits families with young children, snorkellers and those after a smaller, calmer alternative to the town beaches.
