Praia da Coelha is a small cove west of Albufeira reached on foot down a track through scrub, one of the quieter corners of this coast. No road reaches the sand, and the short walk from the end of the road above filters out the crowds that fill the bigger beaches nearby. Cliffs and rock outcrops wrap around a compact patch of sand, with shallow, usually clear water and rocks to snorkel along at either side. High tide leaves limited room, so it is best approached with tide times in mind. It suits families with children old enough for the walk, snorkellers and anyone who values quiet over convenience.
