Japanese head spa in the Algarve: where to go

If you are looking for a Japanese head spa in the Algarve, the two places we can confirm are ZenGlow Studio in Almancil and Aurum Head Spa in Albufeira. ZenGlow is a specialist head spa studio with 90-minute rituals from 120 euros; Aurum opened in Albufeira on 25 April 2026.

ZenGlow Studio, Almancil

ZenGlow Studio is at Rua do Comércio 168 in Almancil, and the Japanese head spa is the heart of what it does. In its own words, the studio is "small by design: three treatment rooms, one team, one shared standard of care."

The rituals on offer:

• Japanese Head Spa: 90 minutes, 120 euros. ZenGlow describes it as "a deeply relaxing and therapeutic ritual originating in Japan", pairing scalp care with warm water rituals, massage and aromatherapy.
• Hydro Intense: 90 minutes, 145 euros, for one person. It adds advanced scalp care tools and targeted hydro therapies to exfoliate, cleanse and hydrate the scalp.
• Teen Zen Head Spa: 90 minutes, 95 euros, for teenagers aged 12 to 17.
• ZenGlow Duo Ritual: 90 minutes, 219 euros for two, in private treatment rooms.

ZenGlow also notes that the Japanese Head Spa cannot be performed on hair extensions. Bookings are by appointment only, and the studio lets you reschedule or cancel free up to 48 hours before.

Aurum Head Spa, Albufeira

Aurum Head Spa is a Portuguese head spa business that opened its second unit in Albufeira on 25 April 2026, on Rua Alexandre Herculano. The Portuguese outlet NiT reported the opening on 14 May 2026.

According to NiT, there are three sessions: an express head spa of about 60 minutes, a standard session of 90 minutes and a premium session of 120 minutes, with prices running from 55 to 150 euros. There is also a duo head spa for two people, and special sessions for brides-to-be, expectant mothers and children up to 12.

Aurum's own website lists, among other things, a Kids Head Spa at 50 euros and a Mummy Head Spa at 95 euros. Bookings and the full price list are on aurumheadspa.com.

What is a Japanese head spa?

A Japanese head spa is a long, slow scalp treatment. It usually combines a thorough scalp cleanse, a scalp and head massage, and warm water, sometimes with steam or aromatherapy, in a quiet room where you lie back and do very little.
